Renault Laguna Concept on auto show

A one half hour ago I'd read press-release about new "Laguna-Coupe". It seems, that it tries to hide information about what Renault motors have created this concept for, and what is interesting in it.

Here are some quotes:

Workers in a couple of sequental 6-step automatic gearbox and managed petrol engine provides very combining comfort driving ...

... blend with the architecture of the platform, and slightly profitable, they ideally like glove, oblegayut body off.

Volvo XC60

Volvo XC60

Volvo's giving us a little treat in releasing these pictures of the XC60 concept SUV, which they'll be showing in a few weeks at the Detroit show. While strictly dubbed a concept show car, the kid brother to the XC90 is expected to go into production in 2009. How closely it mirrors this shapely showcar is the question. (More)

Lexus LS 600h

lexus LS 600h

With obvious intentions of dominating the luxury sedan market, Lexus has infused its updated LS four-door with something that no competitor can provide - a V8 full hybrid drivetrain.

Based on a five-liter direct injection V8 engine, the Lexus Hybrid Drive adds a pair of high-power electric motors and a two-stage "electronic continuously variable transmission" to produce up to 430 HP - said to be equivalent to that of a six-liter V12 (hence the model nomenclature). To make sure that power makes it to the pavement, a standard full-time AWD system routes the power to all four wheels. Fuel economy has not yet been disclosed but is said to be similar to that of mid-sized V6 AWD sedans. The LS 600h L will be certified as a Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (SULEV), giving it emissions levels approximately 70% lower than that of the competition.

BMW X6

BMW X6

Now that the 2007 BMW X5 has made its debut, BMW is working on its next sport activity vehicle (SAV). Expected to debut sometime next year, the 2009 BMW X6 uses the same basic hardware as the X5 but adds a sleeker profile and subtracts some utility for the sake of styling and improved handling. Our latest spy video shows an early X6 prototype undergoing development tests on the streets of Munich.

Expected to come off BMW's Spartanburg assembly line, the X6 will ride on the same platform as its more family-oriented sibling. Its wheelbase isn't expected to change much, although it may add an inch or two in length to make the proportions look right. Judging by the prototype in our latest video and photos, the X6 will look similar to the X5 from the B-pillar forward. A deeper front spoiler and some extended side skirting may be used, but in a rearview mirror it would be hard to distinguish an X6 from an X5. (More)

In the 330d, 272 bhp / 200 kW, 259 km/h top speed (standard: 248) and 600 Nm at 2000 rpm are quite possible. In the top diesel model 335d 313 bhp/230 kW, 272 km/h and a more than generous 630 Nm at 2000 rpm. A power boost to around 380 bhp for the 335i is currently in preparation. By fitting a HAMANN 4-pipe sports rear muffler with four round tailpipes, the 335i and 335d can make their power public. The 4 stainless steel tailpipes, each 76 mm in diameter, make the rear end of this convertible look even more attractive.
